The EX49 Conical No-Grip dome is designed to be virtually impossible to grip or hang from. In high-risk areas, such as hospitals or prisons, the camera helps to prevent at-risk persons from self-inflicted harm. The EX49 is totally vandalresistant and engineered for reliability and performance.

The dome is packed with installer-friendly features, including a Video Patch Lead (VPL) for quick connection to the optional Video Patch Connector (VPC) allowing a portable monitor to be used for setup and troubleshooting. The proprietary Pan-Tilt-Twist gimbal allows versatile positioning of the CCD and lens and instant centering of the video image. Internal fastening hardware is thermally and mechanically optimized for enhanced reliability.

The EX49 features base construction of CNC machined anodized aluminum, an incredibly durable material with high corrosion resistance and heat-resistant. Unlike other finishes, anodized aluminum has astounding chemical stability and will resist changes to color or appearance, even under heavy exposure to ultraviolet rays.

A polycarbonate dome of 3 mm thickness is utilized to protect the internal camera components. Resistant to impact, fire, heat and UV, the polycarbonate dome is guaranteed unbreakable in the face of even the most vicious attacks by vandals. The weather-sealed EX49 is specified for performance in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to +140°F) and certified for safe, legal installs.
