The MRP-2001 is a six-zone FACP for single and dual hazard deluge and preaction applications. The MRP-2001 provides reliable fire detection, signaling and protection for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings requiring water-based releasing. The MRP-2001 is compatible with System Sensor’s i3 detectors which are conventional smoke detectors that can transmit a maintenance trouble signal to the FACP indicating the need for cleaning and a supervisory ‘freeze’ signal when the ambient temperature falls below the detector rating of approximately 45°F (7.22°C). In addition, the control panel is compatible with conventional input devices such as two-wire smoke detectors, four-wire smoke detectors, pull stations, waterflow devices, tamper switches and other normally-open contact devices. Refer to the Fire•Lite Device Compatibility Document for a complete listing of compatible devices.

Four outputs are programmable as NACs (Notification Appliance Circuits) or releasing circuits. Three programmable Form-C relays (factory programmed for Alarm, Trouble and Supervisory) and 24 VDC special application resettable and non-resettable power outputs are also included on the main circuit board. The MRP-2001 supervises all wiring, AC voltage, battery charger and battery level.

Activation of a compatible smoke detector or any normallyopen fire alarm initiating device will activate audible and visual signaling devices, illuminate an indicator, display alarm information on the panel’s LCD, sound the piezo sounder at the FACP, activate the FACP alarm relay and operate an optional module used to notify a remote station or initiate an auxiliary control function.

The MRP-2001E offers the same features as the MRP-2001 but allows connection to 240 VAC. Unless otherwise specified, the information in this data sheet applies to both the 120 VAC and 240 VAC versions of the panels.

The Pyrotector Model 30-2021-24 and Model 30-2021E-24 Ultraviolet (UV) Flame Detectors are highly sensitive to the ultraviolet radiation given off by all types of flames, including those produced by flammable liquids and gases. Since the detector does not respond to normal ambient light conditions such as sunlight, incandescent or fluorescent lighting, it is ideally suited for use as a flame detector in a variety of areas. The Pyrotector Ultraviolet Flame Detector is a compact unitized package consisting of a detection tube, encapsulated solid state electronic circuitry, and a dry-contact Form-C (SPDT) alarm relay. In the event of an alarm, the relay latches on and an alarm light is illuminated for easy identification of the unit in the alarm state. The relay is reset by momentarily interrupting power to the unit. A three-second time delay is built in to minimize false alarms cause by the presence of sparks, lightning, etc. Model 30-2021-24 is contained in a general purpose enclosure and is intended for indoor use only. It mounts on a standard 4" (10.16 cm) octagonal electrical junction box (not included). Model 30-2021E-24 is intended for indoor use and is contained in an explosion-proof enclosure that meets all requirements for NEC Class I Groups C and D; Class II Groups E, F, and G; and Class III hazardous locations. Both models operate on 24 VDC.

The Pyrotector Model 30-2056B IR Flame Detector is a compact, unitized package containing an IR detection cell, solid state electronics and dry Form-C (SPDT) contacts for alarm and fault conditions. The detector is engineered to respond to the nominal 4.45 micron band of infrared radiation, which is commonly known as the CO2 spike. A characteristic of burning hydrocarbons is the emission of unusually high levels of IR radiation in this narrow portion of the radiation spectrum. On the other hand, extraneous light sources that are capable of triggering an alarm in other types of fire detectors emit very low levels of radiation in this range. By concentrating on this narrow band of the spectral range that is highly specific to burning hydrocarbons, combined with the use of optical filters to discriminate against most extraneous background radiation from a variety of sources, including hot objects, the Model 30-2056B is able to provide a high level of reliable fire detection, while being relatively immune to false alarm signals. The detector is compatible with most 24-volt filtered DC four wire fire alarm control panels.

The 302 Series rate-anticipation heat detector respond and activate the fire alarm immediately whenever the ambient temperature reaches the preset temperature setting. Under rapid heat rise conditions, the rate-anticipation feature enables the detector to respond one to three degrees ahead of the setting. At the same time, however, it does not respond to momentary temperature fluctuations below the selected protection level, thus eliminating false alarms. When temperature drops back down below the protection level, the detector automatically resets itself.

Application Information:

302 Series detectors have a smooth-ceiling UL rating of 50' x 50' (15.24 x 15.24 meters) and are the only type of heat detectors having such a rating on both fixed temperature and rate anticipation. The 302-H is designed for horizontal mounting and UL rated for 40' x 40' (12.19 x 12.19 meters).

The Pyrotector Model 30-3003 Explosion Proof Smoke Detector is a sensitive yet rugged protection device that is designed for use in hazardous industrial and commercial locations. The detector is designed to operate effectively with both slow smoldering and fast burning fires.

The photoelectric smoke detector uses a solid-state infraredemitting diode (IRED) and a light-sensing photovoltaic cell arranged in a labyrinth assembly. The labyrinth permits free access to smoke but restricts external light. Because of its critical function to the operation of the detector, each IRED is selected with extreme care and is subjected to rigorous preproduction testing to ensure long-term reliability and performance.

During normal operation (no smoke), the detector samples the air approximately every four seconds for a period of less than one millisecond. The photovoltaic smoke cell, which is placed at an angle to the pulsed invisible light source, is sensitive to the infrared light in the specified frequency emitted by the IRED light source and is designed to receive a signal only when the pulsed IRED source is activated. See "Cross Section of Sensing Chamber Assembly" at top of opposite column.

When smoke enters the chamber, the light from the IRED reflects off the smoke particles and reaches the photovoltaic smoke cell. When the amount of light reflected by smoke reaches the factory-set threshold level, the smoke alarm circuit is actuated.

The detector will respond to a slow smoldering fire when smoke in the chamber reaches the preset sensitivity setting, typically 2.3%.

If a fast-burning fire should occur, including fires in flammable liquids and other materials such as plastics that generate black smoke, the abnormally rapid movement of smoke into the detection chamber is sensed by a special rate-compensating circuit. An increase in smoke within the detection chamber that exceeds a preset rate causes the rate-compensation circuit to increase the intensity of the light source, which increases detector sensitivity. If the smoke continues to build at this rate, an amplifier circuit is triggered and the unit generates an alarm. If not, the detector reverts to normal sensitivity.

In normally smoky atmospheres, the detector will not go into alarm as long as the concentration is less than the fixed sensitivity of the detector. This results in a sensitive and positive response with a very low potential for unwanted alarms.

The main enclosure of the detector contains the electronic circuitry, alarm relay, and supervision relay.

Fail-safe Operation. To ensure reliable operation, the Model 30-3003 is equipped with self-checking circuitry. A regulation photodiode, which is matched to the smoke detection circuit, continuously monitors the output intensity of the IRED and adjusts it as necessary to compensate for an accumulation of dust or other contaminants, or any other variation that can occur with temperature and time. A power supervision relay in the detector provides a trouble output signal in the event of an input power failure.

The detector uses extensive filtering against RF and transient interference. In addition, there is a two-second time delay before an alarm is generated.

The printed circuit board inside the detector is coated to minimize the possibility of problems caused by moisture accumulation. Detector Outputs. The detector provides a set of Form A (SPST) N.O. contacts for connection to the alarm output circuitry and a set of SPST N.C. contacts for supervision of input.
