The KTR-11 is a multifunctional face/badge reader that controls access to a facility via live identification at remote entry and exit points. It is ideal for mantrap applications.

The KTR-11 holds two small solid-state cameras: one to view the face of the individual seeking access, and the other to view their photo identification badge. The face is viewed through a unique motorized mirror, which can be remotely adjusted to accommodate the individual's height. The KTR-11 can also accept video from three additional cameras and provide control for two doors. It features a call button and an 8 ohm speaker for two-way voice communication with the control site.

The KTR-11 can be operated through twisted-pair cable from any of GE Security's audio-equipped keypads. Its internal circuit card includes relays for entrance/exit control; a screen inserter for simultaneous display of the face and badge views; a DTMF tone generator for transmitting call-in requests; and a five-position video/audio switcher. An alphanumeric character generator superimposes door status information on the output video signal for display at the monitor location. External connections are made through BNC connectors and removable terminal strips. All ICs are socketed for easy removal and replacement.
