The RSM-700 Video/Alarm Expander joins Kalatel’s family of Remote Surveillance Modules (RSM) to provide eight additional video inputs with associated alarm triggers for Kalatel RSM-1600 Master Transceiver. The additional video inputs and alarm triggers adapt the Master Transceiver for a broader range of remote video surveillance activities, including alarm verification in business environments, central station monitoring for security companies, centralized monitoring for multicampus enterprises, warehouse monitoring and more.
The RSM-700 Video/Alarm Expander is an accessory to Kalatel’s RSM Master Transceivers, to which it connects by a single cable. Designed to sit under or adjacent to the Master Transceiver, the Expander has eight video inputs with selectable video termination. Each video input is associated with an alarm trigger input. The Expander has a user controlled alarm relay output for remotely activating other equipment, including VCRs, auto dialers, alarm bells and more. In addition, the Expander has both a line-level and microphone input for audio transmission.
Triggering an alarm that is connected to the Video/Alarm Expander causes the Master Transceiver to switch automatically to the associated video input and to dial a remote monitoring station. This alarm capability, combined with the RSM system’s full-color motion video, makes the system ideal for alarm verification and perpetrator identification. The Expander supports all the Master Transceiver’s other features as well, including high-resolution snapshot, automatic camera sequencing and passcode protection, all under the control of a simple-to-use graphical user interface.
