The GRI DPA-10 Series Pool Alarms operate on a 9 volt battery. U.L. requires that a Duracell alkaline battery Model MN1604 be used. Both units will operate at any voltage of 5-15 volts maximum. 12 volts is recommended to prevent sounder volume from dropping below minimum sound pressure levels of 85dB at 10
