The StarLink SL-1FD-T is a fully supervised, wireless digital two-way subscriber unit supported by an extensive nationwide wireless network. The SL-1FD-T is compatible with virtually any alarm control panel and is easy to install and test. The SL-1FD-T can function as a primary wireless communicator, in cases where there are no phone lines present, when connected directly to the control panel Telco terminals. It can also function as a backup to the existing telephone lines. When used as a backup communicator, it automatically switches the communication channel from the telephone line to the GPRS network when it senses phone line trouble.

The SL-1FD-T uses proprietary data-capture technology that captures the alarm report from the control panel and transmits the alarm signals to the StarLink Control Center which are then forwarded to ANY Central Station via standard CS receiver formats 4/2 and Contact ID. In addition, the StarLink Control Center generates and re- ports a Communications Failure signal in the event that the network does not receive the expected supervisory test signal from the Wireless Telemetry Unit during the scheduled period. StarLink alarm signals are transmitted on the data-only GPRS portion of the GSM digital network, provid- ing a fast, dependable communication path to the central station.
