DS Desktop is a desktop digital video management system (DVMS) perfect for schools, branch of?ces, or remote sites where space requirements are limited. DS Desktop is available with 4, 9, or 16 video channels and provides high compression ratios and maximum storage. Automated service monitoring and recovery are available through the FlashGUARD device, which includes a relay output for external noti?cation. DS Desktop supports up to 16 IP cameras in a hybrid con?guration and up to four channels of video analytics.
DS Desktop is HD-enabled, capable of recording and displaying exceptional high-quality images captured by Pelco IP cameras with Sarix HD technology. The MPEG-4 compression used for analog cameras provides excellent image quality, smaller storage requirements, and reduced network bandwidth. Live and playback video is available through the DS ControlPoint client.
Open architecture is the cornerstone of the Digital Sentry design, and users can choose IP cameras or encoders that ?t their application. DS Desktop supports the majority of third-party IP cameras available today and will continue to add support for new cameras as they are released to the market. Digital Sentry customers also bene?t from IT-focused capabilities including SNMP-based network health and event monitoring and the optional Archive Utility, a ?exible long-term storage application.
All DS systems run the same Digital Sentry software, allowing users to combine the DS hardware that ?ts the speci?c application. A single DS ControlPoint user can seamlessly manage any number of DS servers and DX-Series DVRs, providing customers a ?exible and cost-effective approach to migrating from analog DVRs to IP-based systems.
