The Pelco MX4016CD can be used to send the video signal from up to 16 CCTV cameras to a single VCR. While recording or playback is taking place you can choose to view cameras in full screen, in a picture-in-picture format, in quad mode, or all 16 cameras at once on the same screen. At the same time you can apply a digital zoom to any camera in order to get a close-up view of important details. And thanks to its powerful re-sizing engine based on patented Active Image technology this unit is able to maintain a high degree of quality for magnified and multi-camera images with minimal aliasing.
You can also set the multiplexer to automatically switch between cameras at timed intervals in both full screen and multi-camera modes. The multiplexer can also be programmed to prioritize the display and recording of certain cameras in response to an alarm condition. Alarm conditions can be activated by the multiplexer's own built-in activity detector, or through an alarm input available for each camera channel.
