The Model ST-23A Supervised Bill Trap Transmitter is a battery powered cash drawer bill trap with a built-in transmitter designed for use with Linear's S1 Format receivers. This transmitter can be used in a variety of retail hold-up applications.

The ST-23A is concealed in a cash drawer under a stack of currency, with a single bait bill secured in its money clip. During a hold-up, the cashier removes the stack of currency along with the bait bill. When a bait bill is removed, the transmitter sends a 1-second digitally coded wireless signal to its companion receiver. Four additional 1-second signals are sent within the first minute after the bait bill is removed. When the bait bill is replaced, a restore signal is sent.

The ST-23A can send four different signals: alarm, restore, low battery, and status.

Inside the transmitter is a rolling ball that detects when the cash drawer opens and closes, this determines when status transmissions are sent. Because the transmitter's signal might be shielded in a closed cash drawer, the status signals are sent when the drawer is opened. Optionally, the ST-23A can transmit status signals once per hour regardless of motion.

The transmitter has a red test indicator which lights when a bill is in the trap and the test button is pressed. It also lights when the bait bill is inserted into the trap. For safety, the indicator doesn't light when the bait bill is removed. The test indicator will not light when pressing the test button with the bait bill removed.

The test button is disabled for 60-seconds after removing the bait bill. Pressing the test button without a bill in the trap sends an alarm signal. Pressing the test button with a bill in the trap sends a restore signal.

The unit is powered from two 2032 3-Volt lithium batteries with an expected battery life of up to two years. When the batteries get low, the test indicator will flash when the test button is pressed or when the bait bill is replaced.

Linear TMD-90 Supervised Passive Infrared Motion Detector is a passive infrared (PIR)
Product Number: SST00058

The TMD-90 Supervised Passive Infrared Motion Detector is a passive infrared (PIR) motion detector with a built-in supervised, digitally-coded radio transmitter designed for security applications.

The PIR detects motion in its detection pattern by measuring the infrared emission levels of objects that it sees. If the infrared levels change quickly, as when a person moves across the detection pattern, the PIR will recognize the change as an intrusion.

A selectable pulse count circuit controls the PIR's triggering of the transmitter. As a person moves across the detection pattern, the PIR registers one pulse as each finger of the detection pattern is crossed. The TMD-90 counts these pulses. When the selected number of pulses occur during the selected time, the PIR will trigger the transmitter, sending an alarm signal. A lockout timer prevents the transmitter from triggering more often than once every 2 minutes when constant motion is detected. The pulse counting and timing options are selected with the OPTION switch.

The unit is supervised for low battery, alarm and status reporting. The TMD-90 is compatible with any Linear SX format supervised security receiver. The transmitter sends hourly status reports. A test report can be sent by pressing the test button.

Coding switches are not required or used in this transmitter. Each transmitter is pre-coded at the factory to a unique code. With the SX format, there are more than sixteen million codes possible.

The transmitter is powered by four AA 1.5-volt alkaline batteries (included) and can power the unit for up to 5 years. When the battery voltage gets low, a low battery report is sent to the receiver with any alarm, test or status report.
