The amps are part of Crown’s Commercial Audio Series, which also includes mixers and mixer-amps. These low-cost units provide all necessary features in a simple building-block format. The sound system can be upgraded as a facility expands. For example, you can add more mixers for more inputs, or add more power amps (or mixer-amps) to handle more zones.
Some applications include schools, hospitals, factories, restaurant/ retail, houses of worship, fitness facilities, A/V boardrooms, prisons, and small offices. Typical uses are paging, background music, security and evacuation instructions.
The amplifiers vary in their number of inputs, number of outputs, and power range:
The potentiometers on the panel are wired directly to the VCA connectors on the VCA-MC module accessories for CTs 4- and 8-channel amplifiers, or to the VCA connections on Commercial Audio Series products.
CDi-Series amplifiers feature an intuitive front-panel LCD screen to guide installers through their configurations. CDi amplifiers also offer onboard DSP for loudspeaker signal processing. Other features include a switch-mode universal power supply, useful function indicators, proportional-speed fan-assisted cooling, removable Phoenix-style inputs, barrier strip outputs for low-Z or 70V/140V loads, short-circuit protection and more.
CDi-Series amplifiers are protected against shorted, open or mismatched loads; overloaded power supplies; excessive temperature; chain destruction phenomena; excessive output current, and input overload damage. They also protect loudspeakers from input/output DC, large or dangerous DC offsets and turn-on/turn-off transients.
With innovations such as Crown's patented Differoid technology, the CM series combines years of technical know-how with durable, high-quality materials and workmanship. These qualities are direct contributors to the successful performances of our customers, and a primary reason for the success Crown enjoys today.
The Crown® CM-30 is a professionalquality, supercardioid condenser microphone designed for inconspicuous miking of a choir, orchestra or stage. The mic cable connects to the electronics/faceplate which fits a standard electrical outlet box.
The CM-30 can also hang over conference tables or discussion groups for inconspicuous isolated miking. Because of its supercardioid pickup pattern, the CM-30 rejects background noise and room reverberation, and improves gain-before-feedback more than a cardioid microphone.
The CM-30 has a smooth, wide-range frequency response for natural reproduction of the singing voice, organ or other musical instruments. Extreme low frequencies are filtered out to reduce pickup of room rumble. The microphone output is balanced, low impedance. It is protected against static and radio frequency interference. A built-in removable hanger allows easy position adjustment by bending the lower portion of the hanger.
The CM-30 requires 12-48V phantom power. The CM-30 is black; the CM-30W is white.
The CM-311A is the latest version of the Crown’s proprietary Differoid® technology. Its cardioid pickup pattern rejects sounds from the rear, such as floor monitors. Its noise-canceling ability rejects sounds at a distance, such as instruments on stage and crowd noise. This results in the CM-311A having outstanding gain-before-feedback and isolation.
Lightweight and comfortable, the mic’s headband and boom adjust to fit any singer. An included pop filter greatly reduces breath noise and pops. Because of the boom’s unique behind-the-ear design, it does not cover up the singer’s face. Two models are available: CM-311A and CM-311AE. The CM-311A is powered by a 9V battery or phantom power. It has a battery belt pack with an on/off switch, a programmable mic on/off switch, and a “Mic On” LED. The CM-311AE is a pig-tail version allowing you to connect it to most wireless transmitters.
Note: Putting an XLR connector on the CM-311AE and connecting to a mic input with phantom power WILL damage the mic element. For wired applications, use the CM-311A. How to adjust for best fit and to prevent boom bounce Note: To get the maximum performance out of this microphone, take the time to adjust it to fit correctly. For best results, the CM-311A MUST be custom fitted to a single user’s head.
