Crown Audio
The amps are part of Crown’s Commercial Audio Series, which also includes mixers and mixer-amps. These low-cost units provide all necessary features in a simple building-block format. The sound system can be upgraded as a facility expands. For example, you can add more mixers for more inputs, or add more power amps (or mixer-amps) to handle more zones.
Some applications include schools, hospitals, factories, restaurant/ retail, houses of worship, fitness facilities, A/V boardrooms, prisons, and small offices. Typical uses are paging, background music, security and evacuation instructions.
The amplifiers vary in their number of inputs, number of outputs, and power range:
The potentiometers on the panel are wired directly to the VCA connectors on the VCA-MC module accessories for CTs 4- and 8-channel amplifiers, or to the VCA connections on Commercial Audio Series products.
This is a two gang panel with four potentiometers that provide remote volume control for four or more CT's amplifier channels. The potentionmeters on the panel are wired directly to the VCA connectors on the VCA-MC.
4-VCAP: This is a two-gang panel with four potentiometers that provide remote volume control for four or more CTs amplifier channels. The potentiometers on the panel are wired directly to the VCA connectors on the VCA-MC.
CDi-Series amplifiers feature an intuitive front-panel LCD screen to guide installers through their configurations. CDi amplifiers also offer onboard DSP for loudspeaker signal processing. Other features include a switch-mode universal power supply, useful function indicators, proportional-speed fan-assisted cooling, removable Phoenix-style inputs, barrier strip outputs for low-Z or 70V/140V loads, short-circuit protection and more.
CDi-Series amplifiers are protected against shorted, open or mismatched loads; overloaded power supplies; excessive temperature; chain destruction phenomena; excessive output current, and input overload damage. They also protect loudspeakers from input/output DC, large or dangerous DC offsets and turn-on/turn-off transients.
The sound of the CM-200A or CM-200ASW is smooth and non-harsh – yet very articulate – with a wider frequency range than standard vocal microphones. When used up-close, its proximity effect boosts the low-frequency response for a warm, robust sound. An upper-midrange “presence peak” adds intelligibility.
The cardioid polar pattern increases gain-beforefeedback, rejects unwanted background noise, and discriminates against sounds approaching the rear of the microphone. A built-in multi-stage pop filter effectively suppresses explosive breath sounds. Handling noise is extremely low. The unit can withstand repeated drops and abuse, as well as extremely loud sound pressure levels without distortion.
The output of the microphone is balanced, low impedance, which allows long cable runs without hum pickup or high-frequency loss. The unit can be phantom powered from the console or other remote power supply. Included with the CM-200A and CM-200ASW is a convenient carrying pouch, an adjustable microphone stand adapter for mounting the unit to any microphone stand, and a foam windscreen to further reduce breath popping and wind noise.
