Designed to work on CAT5 POE and CAT6, the Edco EL-CAT65POE Series is ideal to protect expensive equipment and critical communication against surges and transients entering a building on exposed transmission lines. The Edco EL-CAT65POE Series is designed to work on Category 5 Power-Over-Ethernet (POE) transmission lines as well as Category 6 applications. The EL-CAT65POE is ideal to protect expensive equipment and critical communication against surges and transients entering a building on exposed transmission lines. Ethernet systems are closed systems; there is no direct connection to the public communication system or electrical distribution network. This limits the magnitude and probability of high-energy transients, but does not decrease the probability of internally generated transients. The protection circuitry of the EL-CAT65POE Series provides protection between each conductor in a set, each conductor set for signal circuits and each conductor set designed to carry DC power.
