Features
Honeywell Video Systems "E" series lens line provides outstanding value in all your CCTV installations. In three varifocal versions, 3.5 to 8, 2.8 to 10, and 5 to 50mm, the "E" series lenses are able to meet the requirements of the vast majority of CCTV installations.
Each lens has been value engineered to give reliable, consistent optical performance in a variety of applications. All of Honeywell Video Systems "E" series lenses are 1/3" format and are compatible with the majority of the CCD security cameras in today's market. All of the auto-iris versions include an industry standard 4 pin connector for iris control from the camera. All models include durable metal threading and set screws to ensure that focus remains sharp after installation.
The variable focal lengths allow the installer the flexibility of obtaining the exact field of view quickly and easily, eliminating the need to make lens substitutions or continuously having to adjust the camera setup. This is especially convenient for future changes to the camera environment or field of view. The 3.5 to 8mm and 2.8 to 10mm manual and auto iris lenses have an f-stop of 1.4, and the 5 to 50mm manual and auto iris lenses have an f-stop of 1.7 for quality low light performance.
Lens selection is one of the most critical elements in a CCTV installation. Honeywell Video Systems "E" series lens line assures reliability, ease of installation, and quality video in a wide range of applications.
The Honeywell Video System full line of Vari-focal lenses are suitable for indoor and outdoor applications where scene and lighting requirements vary.
Featuring world-class design—Honeywell Video's lenses bring together the highest quality aspherical glass optics, lightweight construction, and durability to ensure state-of-the-art optical correction, transmission and light-gathering ability. Vari-focal length lenses allow the installer the flexibility of obtaining the exact field of view quickly and easily, eliminating lens substitutions or the need to continuously adjust the camera setup. This is especially convenient for future changes to the viewing environment. Our lenses allow superior wide aperture performance (F0.95) in low light to capture high-quality images up to 540 TVL, even in horizontal field angles up to 110 degrees.
Market Opportunities
Today's CCTV systems demand lenses that are compact and provide the best optical performance while being easy to install and adjust. Our line of Vari-focal lenses offers the most compact size in the market while maintaining the widest maximum apertures (up to F0.95) for a given focal length range. Innovations such as the focus lock mechanism being separated from the focusing ring ensure accurate adjustment of the focus the first time, reducing time spent in installation and setup of the lens.
Our Auto Iris lenses are 1/3" format and are compatible with the vast majority of today's CCD cameras. The camera controls the iris through an industry-standard 4-pin connector and cable. Our manual lenses allow the installer to set the depth of field for a specific application.
Lens selection is the most critical element in any CCTV installation. Honeywell Video's complete line of Vari-focal lenses provide you with the highest quality, reliability and ease-of-installation, suitable for indoor applications in retail, hospitality, financial, and gaming establishments and outdoor applications, such as ports and parking lots and other areas where low light imaging is important.

Day and Night Vari-Focal Technology
Honeywell offers a real solution to day and night surveillance applications with its line-up of DC auto iris Vari-Focal lenses that deliver clear, sharp, color images in daylight and black and white images in darkness using near infrared illumination, without the need to refocus the lens. Our lenses achieve day/night lighting corrections through a combination of our proprietary optical design and aspherical elements, allowing superior wide aperture performance (F0.95) in low light to capture high quality images even in horizontal field angles up to 94 degrees.
Today’s lens market is rapidly changing from part-time observation (day or night) to round-the-clock surveillance. With Honeywell Day/Night Vari-Focal technology, you now have the ability to upgrade or integrate CCTV security systems affordably. The ability to view high contrast, clear, detailed images adds value to any project. Advanced aspherical design engineering reduces distortion and provides accurate visual identification of subjects in daylight, low light and near infrared light, without the need to refocus the lens. In addition to extraordinary low-light functionality, Honeywell Day/Night lenses are compact, light-weight and easy to install making them perfect for use with true day night cameras in outdoor installations such as parking lots, ports and other areas where low light imaging is important.
Benefits
Ability to see a high contrast, clear, and detailed picture of the subject in daylight, low light and near infrared light, allowing identification of a subject rather than just observation.
Honeywell’s HLD29V8DNL (2.9 – 8mm, F0.95), HLD27V13DNL (2.7 – 13mm, F1.3) and HLD5V50DNL (5 – 50mm, F1.6) day/night lenses provide the widest maximum aperture for their focal range, which leads to better low-light performance of the camera. All lenses use aspheric lens elements, which are curved so that each light ray focuses on the same point of the focal plane, reducing the number of lens elements and therefore reducing the optical distortion in the image. The lenses are small, compact and lightweight.
The HLD29V8DNL and HLD27V13DNL are the only day/night lenses on the market with focus-tightening knobs separate from the focusing ring. This provides easier installation and ensures that any tightening of the focusing knob will not accidentally shift the position of the focusing ring. Both lenses have the widest zoom range, largest maximum aperture, and smallest size and weight in their class.
The day/night lenses have a unique optical design that enables them to provide crisp color images in daylight and black and white images in darkness using nearinfrared illumination, without the need to refocus the lens. They are ideal for use with true day night cameras in outdoor installations such as parking lots, ports and other areas where low-light imaging is important.
