FM Systems PMS500 115 VAC Power Supply & Mainframe (+/- 12VDC out)

The versatile PMS500 Mainframe and Power Supply features the unique capability of housing and powering any combination of the Series 500 Stereo Processors that add up to three card spaces in a 1.75" H x 19" W rack space. Sophisticated design and low power consumption result in smaller modules that can be closely packed together without overheating, thus providing more equipment per head-end space.

 

Most FM SYSTEMS Series 500 modules occupy one card space, although some modules occupy two card spaces. Thus, the PMS500 Mainframe system can potentially supply up to nine stereo program services in the same head-end space as a 5.2" H x 19" W card cage. This lightweight and durable aluminum Mainframe is also fully enclosed to provide excellent shielding from RF fields and to prevent internal signals from interfering with nearby equipment. Individual modules are easily installed and/or removed through the bottom cover plate.

 

The power supply delivers regulated +/- 12 Volts DC from a 115VAC power source. A green LED on the front panel indicates a power-on condition. The AC power line is protected from overload by a re-set circuit breaker on the rear panel. This circuit breaker is not a switch, thus power cannot be removed accidentally. The solid state voltage regulator is also fully protected from accidental short circuits.

 

Additional features ensure safe power-down in the event of component failure of overheating due to external causes. For the operator's convenience, front and rear panel designation labels are provided with the equipment cards. The universal front panel pattern permits any card to be placed in any location. Blank designation panels for all unused card spaces ensure uniform appearance.
